2. What is a cookie and what is it used for?
A cookie is a small file that is sent to your browser and saved on your device when you visit a website such as www.armani.com ("the site").
Cookies allow the site to function efficiently and improve its performance, and also provide information to the site owner for statistical or advertising purposes, mainly to personalize your browsing experience by remembering your preferences (e.g. remembering the language and currency you set, to recognize you on your next visit, etc.).

Our site uses different types of first-party cookies, third-party cookies (set up and managed by third parties under their own privacy policies and not under the control of Giorgio Armani) and related technologies, each of which has a specific function. Below is an explanatory table.

In particular, GA4 allows the collection of data from websites and apps that can be traced back to the data controller in order to perform aggregate statistics (related, for example, to demographic, technical, economic and behavioral factors) aimed at optimizing and improving navigation without directly identifying the user. The use of GA4 involves the collection of a range of information relating to user activity that qualifies as "personal data" under current data protection legislation. The analyses produced by this solution are carried out without the possibility of accessing the raw data that is recorded: in fact, Giorgio Armani has chosen to implement the Google Tag Manager ("GTM") Server-Side solution offered by Google, which prevents the direct sending of the data collected by the tag directly to Google data centers, by interposing a so-called "server container" owned by the Company. Once the container server receives and processes the data, it sends it via an encrypted HTTPS connection to Google Analytics data centers located in third countries, where it is further encrypted before being forwarded to Google Analytics' processing servers.
